Helvetian Brushes events are built around creativity, learning, and community.
To ensure that everyone feels welcome, safe, and respected, all participants are expected to follow this Code of Conduct.
This applies to all Helvetian Brushes activities, including Meet & Paint sessions, workshops, and any related online spaces.
1. Respect and inclusion
All participants are expected to treat each other with respect and consideration at all times.
- Discrimination or harassment of any kind is not tolerated.
- This includes, but is not limited to, misogyny, racism, homophobia, transphobia, or any form of exclusionary behavior.
- This also applies to jokes, comments, or “casual remarks”. Even if meant humorously, such behavior is not acceptable.
Everyone should feel comfortable participating regardless of gender, background, age, experience level, or language skills.
2. A welcoming learning environment
Helvetian Brushes events are designed to be low-pressure and supportive.
- There is no competition unless explicitly stated.
- Everyone learns at their own pace.
- Mistakes are part of the process and should be treated as such.
Encouragement and curiosity are always welcome. Judgment is not.
3. Feedback and advide
Giving feedback can be valuable, but it must always be respectful and consensual.
- Do not give unsolicited feedback on someone else’s work.
- Before offering advice, ask for permission.
For example: “Would you like some feedback on this?” or “Can I share how I would approach this part?” - If someone declines feedback, that decision must be respected without discussion.
This applies to all skill levels, including workshops.
4. Respect for people and personal property
- Always respect other participants’ miniatures, tools, and materials.
- Do not touch someone else’s work or equipment without explicit permission.
- Be mindful of shared table space and keep your area reasonably tidy.
Accidents happen. If something is damaged, inform the owner or the organizer immediately
5. Respect for the venue
We are guests in the spaces where Helvetian Brushes events take place.
- Treat the venue with care and respect.
- Follow any rules or instructions given by the venue or the organizer.
- Leave the space clean and in good condition.
This helps ensure that we can continue to use these spaces for future events.
6. Materials provided by Helvetian Brushes
When materials, miniatures, or tools are provided by Helvetian Brushes:
- Use them responsibly.
- Return shared materials after use.
- Do not take materials or miniatures home unless explicitly stated.
These resources are meant to be shared so that everyone can enjoy the event.
7. Children and young participants
Children and teenagers are welcome at Helvetian Brushes events where explicitly stated.
- Adults are expected to be mindful of language and behavior.
- The goal is to create a safe and positive environment for younger participants.
- Parents or guardians remain responsible for their children unless otherwise agreed.
8. Organizer authority
The organizer reserves the right to intervene if behavior does not align with this Code of Conduct.
- This may include asking someone to change their behavior.
- In serious or repeated cases, participants may be asked to leave an event.
These decisions are made to protect the well-being of the group as a whole
In summary
Helvetian Brushes events are about sharing a hobby in a respectful, inclusive, and relaxed atmosphere.
Be kind.
Ask before advising.
Respect people, materials, and spaces.
If everyone follows these principles, the community benefits as a whole.
