Helvetian Brushes was created with a simple but ambitious goal: to bring miniature painters across Switzerland closer together.
Switzerland has many talented painters and small local groups, and we strongly believe these local communities are valuable and necessary. At the same time, we noticed that painters often remain isolated within their own circles, with limited opportunities to connect, learn, and grow beyond their immediate environment. Helvetian Brushes exists to help break those silos and create bridges between painters, regions, styles, and experience levels.
Our focus is not competition, but connection, learning, and shared passion for the hobby.
A Community Built Around Education and Exchange
One of the core pillars of Helvetian Brushes is high-quality education. We actively bring internationally recognised miniature painters to Switzerland to host workshops focused on technique, composition, storytelling, and artistic development.
We deliberately keep workshop sizes small to ensure a meaningful learning experience. At the same time, we work hard to keep prices as accessible as possible. This is achieved by:
- Offering our own time and organisational work on a voluntary basis
- Securing free or low-cost venues through local partnerships
- Collaborating with sponsors who support the hobby through materials rather than profit-driven models
Our intention is simple: make world-class education in miniature painting available in Switzerland without turning it into an exclusive or inaccessible experience.
Supporting the Next Generation of Painters
Beyond advanced workshops, Helvetian Brushes is also committed to introducing the hobby to new generations.
We regularly organise local events and beginner-friendly activities designed for children and newcomers, where painting is presented as a creative, artistic, and social activity. These events focus on creativity, patience, and fun rather than competition or performance.
To support this mission, Helvetian Brushes is part of the Warhammer Alliance, which allows us to more easily provide miniatures and materials for introductory events and youth-focused activities. This partnership helps lower the entry barrier and makes it easier for young painters to discover the hobby in a welcoming environment.
A Non-Profit, Community-First Approach
Helvetian Brushes operates as a non-profit, community-driven initiative. We are not motivated by financial gain, and any collaboration, sponsorship, or partnership is focused solely on improving the quality and accessibility of our events.
We believe that by pooling effort, sharing knowledge, and supporting one another, the miniature-painting community in Switzerland can grow stronger, more connected, and more visible, both locally and internationally.
Whether you are a beginner, an experienced painter, a professional artist, or simply curious about the hobby, Helvetian Brushes aims to be a place where you feel welcome, inspired, and connected.
